Simply stated, I cannot say enough wonderful things about this company!! I called them for a phone consultation after another company, without even coming out to my house, told me I needed mold remediation. Right away, the owner told me that the EPA establishes guidelines (in terms of minimum square footage of affected areas) required for actual Mold Remediation and that if the affected area was smaller than the EPA standard (which they thought my area was based on my description and pictures I had emailed to them), then I could just disinfect it myself or have a contractor remove the affected area of drywall and that remediation may be unnecessary.
They conducted a very thorough inspection and confirmed that actual remediation was not necessary. That saved me about $2,000!! They found unseen mold (due to outside water seepage) behind baseboards in the basement and on the back of the drywall in the storage room that even our very thorough home inspector had missed. The owner then took the time to write me a detailed list of each area that was a problem, and how to remedy and maintain it myself, down to explaining what type of mold-resistant drywall to buy if we chose to remove the drywall instead of cleaning the mold. He also told us what type of mold-resistant paint to use and advised us to have the air ducts cleaned (the house is 27 yrs old & the history unknown, plus we are remodeling) and to buy a dehumidifier for the basement. He even drew me a diagram of how to re-grade the yard around the base of the house to promote proper drainage. All of that for the inspection fee of $350.00!
That is why I am writing such a detailed review of this company, because they could have hit me up for the much more expensive process of professional remediation. The owner is extremely honest and went above and beyond the call of duty to save ME money!! Check out their very informative web site at www.RTSenvironmental.com.
