Mold Inspections, Removal and Remediation for your Maryland Home

When homeowners and business owners throughout the Washington, DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland region think about mold, sometimes they immediately think of the bluish substance they find on the forgotten loaf of bread in the kitchen. But realistically, that loaf inedible bread is the least of their concerns when it comes to mold. Mold in the home or workplace differs greatly - it is not contained (such as that inside the plastic bag of bread) and it can easily spread to every area of the building. Indoor mold growing on the walls, ceiling, floorboards, or anywhere else, should be addressed immediately upon discovery in order to protect those inside, as well as to protect the integrity of the structure.

Mold spores are cause for concern for everyone, but some individuals are more at risk than others. For example, people with asthma, allergies or other upper respiratory issues are much more likely to be sensitive to mold. Likewise, people with immune system disorders, such as cancer patients, organ transplant recipients and others with a compromised immune system also are likely to suffer the greatest risk associated with mold. These reasons alone are great motivators to seek the services of a mold inspector or mold remediation company such as RTS Environmental.

The possible health hazards associated with mold include stuffy or runny nose, irritated eyes, wheezing, skin irritation, difficulty breathing and shortness of breath. If anyone in your home or office building suffers from these symptoms regularly, a mold inspection is likely in order. Taking it one step further, after mold is discovered, mold remediation or mold removal services are likely to be needed in your Damascus, MD or Ellicott City, MD home or office.

If you have questions about whether you need a mold inspection, mold removal or mold remediation services, contact the leaders in the mold industry at RTS Environmental today.
