What is an Inspection for Mold / Moisture? Mold Inspection Overview

Initially a mold inspection is a visual inspection. We look closely at areas of a home where mold may be prone to grow such as in basements, attics, crawl spaces, bathrooms, kitchens, or areas where known water infiltration has occurred. We look in utility rooms, under accessible stair wells, and in some areas you wouldn't consider.

We use special source lighting so we can see what surfaces look like in full detail. You would be surprised at what you see with light directed on walls at contrasting angles. We also look at certain elements of suspect HVAC systems to identify if mold may be within ductwork or fan / coil housing units. We bring with us many tools such as moisture meters, hygrometers (relative humidity) fiber optic scopes (to look within wall cavities), and an Infra-Red camera which can detect moisture in wall and ceiling systems in out of reach areas.

We can also perform air tests or surfaces samples with accredited labs to help us discover mold types and concentrations.

But most of all we bring many years of experience of knowing where to look and what to look for. Then we can help you understand if you have a problem or not.
