Infra-Red Thermal Inspection

New to the industry, Thermal Imaging is performed using an infrared camera. This camera is designed to detect small changes in temperature relative to the spectrum of light in the range of infrared energy. This specialty technology is a high tech way to discover building problems otherwise not visible with the human eye. IR cameras distinguish between wet and dry materials by exploiting the thermal characteristic of wet materials to store heat very well and warm up or cool down more slowly than dry materials.

Additionally, IR inspections can help insure surfaces are dry especially after professional restoration drying due to water damage.

Infrared Thermography can detect the following building defects:

• Moisture in wall and ceiling cavities
• Pockets of condensation or moisture
• Heat loss from roof systems
• Overheated electrical systems or wiring
• Poor insulation
• Leaking windows or doors
